Over 1 million people in the United States each year are diagnosed with skin cancer. This number is expected to increase as people spend more time outdoors for recreation. Because of increased sun exposure, people of all ages develop skin cancer not just the elderly. The most common types of skin cancer are basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and malignant melanoma.
